Hi, I’m Jen
My name is Jen, and I run Jen’s Camp. While Jen’s Camp is in it’s third year, I’m a familiar face to many as I’ve been running camp here at Alcott in Lincoln Park for six years.
I started my career working at a summer camp on the US Navy base in Kauai and was asked to return to direct their spring break program the following year. I later ran camps and programs in Italy and Japan! When I returned to Chicago, I worked under the development arm of a nonprofit before transitioning to operations. I spent 10 years in the nonprofit sector while also earning my Master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration.
I’ve been lucky to be able to focus on positively impacting others throughout my career. I’ve seen what a huge impact camp has on children, their families, and our community. It’s the impact that inspired me to launch my own camp! I believe in empowering kids to make choices, because I know that when we give kids support and space to grow and explore, there’s no limit to what they can accomplish!
At Jen’s Camp, families don’t have to spend time worrying about daily care, meal prep, or signing up for activities because we take care of it all. Monday - Friday 7:30a-6p (7:45a - 5:45p for Spring Break). Isn’t that a breath of fresh air? We can’t wait to see you this spring and summer!
