Device Policy
Jen's Camp LLC No Cell Phone or Device Policy
To help ensure a safe, engaging environment, Jen’s Camp LLC does not permit campers to bring personal electronic devices to camp. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, and any other devices that connect to the internet or have entertainment features.
Why No Devices? Our goal is for campers to fully enjoy the camp experience we have carefully planned. Personal devices not only distract from activities and schedules but can also provide access to content we consider inappropriate or misaligned with our camp values. We want campers to engage with each other, the program, build connections, and participate fully in all camp activities. We have spent a lot of time planning for a great camp experience and devices distract and require staff to focus on confiscating the device vs the planned program and schedule. We have this policy for safety and to allow all campers to have the experience they signed up to enjoy.
Device Collection & Communication If a camper is found with a device, they will be required to turn it in to ensure their safety, the safety of other campers, and the integrity of the camp experience. The device will be held at our front desk or check out cart, and a note will be added to the camper’s account as a reminder to take it home at the end of their day. We are not responsible for lost devices, even when confiscated.
What if I need to connect with my camper? Should campers need to contact home, they are welcome to come to the front desk (we call the front desk ‘HQ’ at Jen’s Camp), where they can use the camp phone with the help of our staff to text or call.
Responsibility & Liability Jen’s Camp LLC is not responsible for any devices brought to camp, whether they are turned in or not. We require and encourage families to keep valuable electronics at home to lower risk and avoid loss or damage. If a camper is found to have a device more than once, they risk being asked to leave camp as it takes away from others camp experiences and compromises the safety and integrity of the program, campers, and staff.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in helping us provide a safe and immersive camp experience for all.
