Why No Devices?
Jen's Camp LLC — No Cell Phone, Smartwatch & Device Policy
To help ensure a safe, engaging, and fully immersive camp experience, Jen's Camp LLC does not permit campers to bring personal electronic devices to camp. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, and any other device that connects to the internet, tracks location, or has entertainment features.
Why No Devices? We have spent a lot of time and care planning an incredible camp experience — and we want every camper to be fully present for it. Personal devices, including smartwatches, distract campers from activities, pull attention away from the connections they're building with each other, and can provide access to content that doesn't align with our camp values. When a device shows up at camp, our staff has to stop what they're doing to address it — and that takes away from the experience everyone signed up for. This policy exists to protect that experience for every single camper.
Device Collection & Communication If a camper is found with a cell phone, smartwatch, or any other personal device, they will be asked to turn it in. The device will be held at HQ (our front desk) for the remainder of the day and returned at pickup. A note will be added to the camper's account as a reminder to leave it at home going forward. Jen's Camp LLC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged devices — including devices held at HQ. We strongly encourage families to leave valuable electronics at home to avoid any risk of loss or damage.
What if I need to reach my camper? Campers are always welcome to come to HQ, where our staff will help them call or text home using the camp phone. Parents can also reach us directly at any time — we're always here.
Repeated Violations If a camper is found with a device more than once, they risk being asked to leave camp. We take this seriously because repeated violations compromise the safety, integrity, and experience of the entire camp community.
We appreciate your partnership in keeping camp the best it can be — for every kid, every day. The best thing you can do is leave the devices at home!
